The Sr. Instructional Designer (ID) is a key role within the IT Learning & Development team. The Sr. Designer works collaboratively with business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), key stakeholders, program owners, and other learning professionals to design and develop innovative learning solutions that leverage a combination of learning modalities to maximize the learner experience, learning effectiveness, and business impact.
The Sr. ID leverages instructional design techniques to author in-person, virtual, and eLearning content. This position uses their expertise to create original content and provides consultation on adult learning best practices. Additionally, this role mentors junior designers in content design and development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience developing Pendo learning assets.
- Experience working on virtual teams.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Certifications such as Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD), or ATD Master Instructional Designer are a plus.
- Proficiency with instructional design including eLearning design and development, needs assessment, and working with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience using adult learning theory and methodologies to design and develop training.
- Solid and rigorous project management skills including planning work, managing details, and keeping multiple projects on track.
- Experience with audio or video recording tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Audacity, Audition), and video development software applications (e.g., Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate 360).
- Advanced proficiency with graphic design, animation, and eLearning development.
- 6-8 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and progressively responsible work experience in a related area may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Compensation: Hourly, 1099 or W2 with a rate of $56.00 per hour. The anticipated pay range for this position is $50.00 or more.
