Job descriptions
Primary Purpose: IT Support Technician with focus on networking and systems support. Group Policy and Active Directory planning, setup, and management. Understand Microsoft server licensing including applying keys and determining CALs required. Understand the importance of backups and ability to maintain the backup environment. Ability to physically lift materials used.
Coordinate with Hardware Vendors to install or migrate their products between servers. Ability to coordinate with TELCOs and ISPs to arrange new installations and porting accounts to install new VOIP.
Timely and accurate updates to ticket notes for work performed, travel information, and equipment.
Schedule jobs with customers and meet their available dates. Review tickets ahead of job dates to ensure all proper materials are received and perform pre-configurations. Complete thorough documentation of system configurations.
Mount network and server equipment while working in IT rooms that do not have ideal spacing for accessing equipment.
Some jobs may require early start times or work after normal business hours.
Requirements
Familiar with mounting network and server equipment while working in IT rooms that do not have ideal spacing for accessing equipment. Experience configuring equipment from a server or control computer. Familiar with Windows Server Operating Systems.
Understand Microsoft server licensing including applying keys and determining CALs required. Understand the importance of backups and ability to maintain the backup environment.
Ability to physically lift access points. Identifying and configuring equipment that needs to be integrated such as switches, routers, and printers.
Experience installing new equipment at customer locations and transferring files, software, and settings to new devices. A remote-equipped home office is needed for this role.
Familiar with using hand tools and small power tools. Familiarity with networking to perform basic setup. Proficient in computer operations.
